Wai Shong Chan

USC MPA 2016 Graduate, Online Program

“This program allowed me to understand various issues that challenge the public sector. It trained me to comprehend that as a public administrator, you need to analyze problems from different perspectives and recognize various, feasible alternatives that can solve these public issues. This USC MPA program allowed me to find that path and develop and improve my skills.”

Tayo Adeyefa

2015 Graduate, Online Program

“USC’s network combined with its rigorous program focused on theory and practice helped me prepare for networking opportunities with leaders at Deloitte and prepare me for their rigorous interview process. The breadth of opportunity at Deloitte will fulfill one of my career goals to work in different sectors (private, public and nonprofit) and industries, and to make a professional and personal commitment to impact my community and the world.”

Jessica Urena

2015 Graduate, Online Program

“What you get out of the MPA program is a huge value. One thing I stress when I’m talking to prospective students or to my cohort is that the USC family is a real thing. Being in this program makes you part of the USC family. That is always something you can take with you wherever you go and whatever you do. That’s a huge value, and it’s why you go to USC.”

Julie Wyne

2015 Graduate, Online Program

“The USC MPA program expanded my knowledge of public and nonprofit sector organizations and issues/challenges facing those organizations. I made excellent connections with other students and USC professional staff, and am proudly a part of the Trojan family. The connections I have made will last a lifetime, and I value them tremendously.”

Allison Smith

2014 Graduate, Online Program

“The MPA online program allowed me to work full time while developing expertise in public administration theory and management. I was able to bring lessons directly into the real world and use my day-to-day work as case study for class. The cohort experience brought the MPA online program to life despite the distance learning format. I worked with such talented people who were established in their fields — I was able to engage with a well-rounded group in every project and make long-lasting personal and professional connections with my classmates. After graduating, I was able to take my career to the next level. Through the program, I had gained consulting experience and was able to offer my expertise to a variety of organizations before settling into a new job in a new city where my salary more than doubled.”

Lauren Arzu

2014 Graduate, Online Program

“Having a USC master’s degree definitely opened doors for me. I think an MPA has given me the ability to decide what I want to be and be a little picky about what job I choose. Having a degree from USC really means a lot, especially a graduate degree. That’s definitely added a bonus to my credentials as I’ve been working with different people. I think they take me a little bit more seriously knowing that I have that background.”

Cynthia McDougal

Student, Online Program

“For me, the connection to USC is very humbling, because USC does have such a stellar reputation. It’s not a school or online program that says yes to every student who applies. … I feel absolutely humbled and honored to be part of the Trojan nation that’s going to carry that reputation forward. It is literally the culmination of an almost lifelong goal.”

Tom Bazan

Student, Online Program

“The Price School is part of a community of world changers, and it’s nice to be part of that community. People who go to USC and specifically people who go to the Price School are serious about helping their communities. Not everybody is going to agree with each other, some people are going to have different ideas on how to do that, and that’s OK. We all want the same thing, and that is to make our community better.”

Morgan Golin

USC MPA 2016 Graduate, Online Program

“I was looking to better understand how I could place myself in a position of nonprofit leadership. I live in D.C., so it’s really hard to come in at the ground floor. You really need that education, and the MPA degree has the breadth of knowledge that you’re going to need to interact with all the sectors. It’s a really well-rounded program from an MPA perspective that I think is going to be transferable to a lot of positions and sectors.”

Paige Roberts

USC MPA 2015 Graduate, Online Program

“I have much broader knowledge of public administration issues, and I have a deeper appreciation for research. Also, I am a much more informed consumer of published studies and a much savvier participant in discourse.”

Chris Himes

USC MPA 2015 Graduate, Online Program

“It was an immersive class environment without actually having the class environment physically. A lot of students are in Southern California, but we had people from all walks of life, all career backgrounds come together and make the best of it. So I would definitely say the MPA classmates helped make the program.”

Laura Albers

USC MPA 2015 Graduate, Online Program

“Very soon I realized that the caliber of students in these courses with me was so far beyond anything I could have imagined, and it is because of the online option. The online format allowed people like me to go to school again. People who are in the middle of their career already, who have already achieved a lot of success in their work, but whose lives do not allow the room to go to a brick-and-mortar classroom. I was in classes with city managers, executive directors, lobbyists, people who have worked on political campaigns, mayors and city council people. We got just as much from each other as we did from any coursework or any professor. We just kept challenging each other.”

Christopher Foster

USC MPA 2014 Graduate, Online Program

“Graduating from USC with my MPA was an excellent achievement. It was both very fulfilling and rewarding. The program changed the way I viewed the world as a whole. The professors challenged me to expand my mind and explore all possible solutions to challenges my organization and I may face. I would recommend anyone looking to expand their skill set analytically to apply to this program.”

Willie Joe Marquez

USC MPA 2014 Graduate, Online Program

“There are a lot of skills that I learned in the MPA program that definitely helped me in my career. My USC education proved that I can handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously. It showed that I could work cross-functionally, put up with feedback, learn from it and produce a better product, and I could work through hardships. It showed that I have passion and am a person who cares about helping those who need help the most. I’d absolutely recommend the program.”

Joslyn Treece

USC MPA 2013 Graduate, Online Program

“I entered the online MPA program as a mid-career professional and was extremely impressed with the high caliber of instruction and the professionalism, dedication and contributions of my fellow students. It was a rewarding experience on many levels, and one I would strongly recommend to others interested in the Price School. Fight On!”

Ramona Renena Smith

USC MPA 2013 Graduate, Online Program

“The MPA online program provided me the opportunity to fulfill a lifelong goal to obtain an MPA from a distinguished university from home. The program was designed to be challenging, supportive and directly geared toward my career path. My career is well-established, and I was able to lend my life and work experience to the conversation while learning updated strategies and technology of the younger generations. I have made lifelong friends and connections that I truly cherish.”

Greg Dirks

USC MPA Student, Online Program

“USC was the first program I looked up just because I consider it pretty much the best in the country. When you talk to people in the public sector, they know the USC name. I don’t think there’s any better choice out there for people looking at an MPA program.”
